On October 29, members of the K-Reporters team took part in the roundtable Different contexts, different perspectives: Experiences of legitimisation and child participation around the world, held within the framework of International Week FEPTS 2025 in Universitat de Lleida
Representing the project, Laura Becalli and Marlen Crespo from the Universidad de Matanzas (Cuba), together with Jaime Muñoz from the University of Groningen (The Netherlands), shared reflections and insights drawn from their ongoing fieldwork. Their contributions opened up a dialogue on how children’s voices and forms of participation are recognised, legitimised, and enacted across diverse cultural, social, and political contexts, core concerns of the KReporters project.
The roundtable provided a valuable space for exchange, highlighting both shared challenges and context-specific approaches to child participation worldwide. It also reinforced the importance of comparative and situated perspectives when working towards more inclusive and rights-based practices with children.
International Week FEPTS 2025, organised under the theme “Shaping the Future through Global Learning”, invited the academic community to reflect on the internationalisation of education and the development of skills for an interconnected world. From October 28 to 30, the Faculty of Education, Psychology, and Social Work hosted conferences, roundtables, workshops, and participatory activities involving students and faculty from diverse global contexts, fostering intercultural dialogue, collaboration, and a shared commitment to diversity, human rights, and educational transformation.
