This seminar addresses the challenges faced by LGTBIQ+ youth within child and youth care systems. Through an interdisciplinary approach, we will explore the experiences of LGTBIQ+ youth in residential and foster care, with special attention to the challenges they face and the opportunities to improve their well-being and resilience. The seminar will also present strategies, tools, and approaches that support the development of more inclusive and respectful protective environments. 

This seminar is especially aimed at professionals working in child and youth care systems, social educators, social workers, psychologists, researchers and academics in the fields of child welfare, education, and LGTBIQ+ studies, policy makers in child protection and LGTBIQ+ rights, representatives of LGTBIQ+ organizations, mental health professionals working with LGTBIQ+ children and youth, and specialized healthcare providers.
